Cable & Wireless Panama has announced the start of their fifth generation telephony tests in Panama. According to various specialists in the areas of Information and Telecommunications Technologies (ICT), the 5G network will improve the productivity, competitiveness, and profitability of companies operating in Panama and attract new foreign investments.
The implementation of 5G is expected to offer higher speeds in data transmission and a better user experience for individuals or companies, which in return should allow access to more and better information, facilitating timely decision-making, which will translate into cost reduction, greater competitiveness, and better profitability.
Another advantage of 5G is the increased speed in telecommunications, which will allow the use of more and better applications improving productivity.
As an example of what 5G technology will mean, it was highlighted that, in terms of Education, users will be able to access more information, much faster and with a higher level of resolution, facilitating the teaching-learning process.
This new technology will give Panama the potential to attract new investments, especially for those oriented to the area of new technologies. And with the country’s high level of connectivity, it could be considered the most important Technology Hub in the region.
