Beach Corridor Expansion Achieves 78% Completion

The Beach Corridor Expansion project, section 1: La Chorrera – Santa Cruz located in the province of Panamá Oeste, has a progress of 78% according to the Ministry of Public Works.

This work is being developed by the company Puentes Infraestructura SLU Sucursal Panamá and the project will include the construction of a viaduct 1.7 kilometers long, with a platform 26.50 meters wide.

The corridor will consist of six traffic lanes and will cross the La Espiga sector.

The project also includes the installation of New Jersey safety barriers, the placement of the asphalt layer, lighting and the storm drainage system. It will also include the construction of two vehicle returns at different levels.

The construction of two pedestrian bridges is also included: one in the Villa Mireya sector of Capira and another in the Loma Brígida area, La Pesa sector. In addition to this, two roundabouts will also be built under the viaduct, one at the entrance to La Chorrera and another in the La Pesa sector, in addition to the total rehabilitation of the four lanes under the viaduct.

This work will benefit more than two million inhabitants of the country and will improve vehicular traffic in the La Espiga sector, mainly on weekends.
